1. What is Opening Balance?
1. Opening balance is the amount a contact (customer or supplier) has at the beginning of using the software.
2. If you are shifting data from another software to Aurpos, the opening balance represents the amount the contact has to pay or receive from you.
How to calculate the opening balance:
✅ Opening balance for customer = Amount the customer has to pay.
✅ Opening balance for supplier = Amount you have to pay to the supplier.
2. How to Add an Opening Balance
Steps:
1️⃣ You can add an opening balance while adding or editing a supplier or customer.
2️⃣ In the Add Contact screen, you will find the Opening Balance field.
3. Viewing Opening Balance & Due Payments
Steps:
1️⃣ Go to List Supplier/Customer.
2️⃣ Click on View for the specific contact.
3️⃣ On the View Page, you will find the Opening Balance & Opening Balance Due.
4. Paying or Receiving Opening Balance
Steps:
1️⃣ Go to List Supplier/Customer.
2️⃣ Click on Actions → Pay.
3️⃣ A popup modal will appear where you can enter the payment amount and complete the transaction.

Note: Opening balance payments are processed the same way as any other payments in the system.
Ensure all balances are updated when transitioning to Aurpos for accurate financial records!
